Dear Sirs,
Bovine tuberculosis: consultation on the Government’s approach to tackling the disease and on a badger control policy
I refer to the Government’s consultation on the above matter, issued on 15 September 2010.
I am extremely concerned about the huge impacts that the disease has on affected farms as well as the worrying spread of bTB across England.
I fully support the Government’s proposed policy option 6, as set out in the consultation document. I believe that the combination of using free shooting in addition to cage trapping badgers in a coordinated manner, will be the most efficient, humane and cost effective method of controlling the badger population and will significantly reduce the transmission of disease to cattle.
I would be grateful if this response is not published or made available to third parties. Due to the highly sensitive nature of this consultation, I would be concerned about my personal safety should this response be obtained by persons who may seek to cause harm or harassment.
Yours faithfully
